Today’s featured woman that has inspired me is Keri Nichols. You may have heard of the term “Supermom.” That term was created about women like Keri. As a single mom, working full-time, and going to school, there is nothing that stands in her way of doing everything and anything for her son Zach. Any decision ever made big or small is to better the life of her son. She sacrificed a lot and put her life on hold for the happiness and well-being of her son but she wouldn’t have it any other way. To say Keri did well as a young mother would devalue who she is as mother. Keri did an excellent job for any mom, period!
Now, at age 15, Zach has a very promising athletic career ahead of him in both baseball and basketball. His biggest passion lies in baseball. Every day Keri shuttles him from one practice to the next. She is at every game, works hard to make sure she can get him the equipment he needs, figures out ways to get him to elite training programs, gets to work early so she doesn’t miss his earlier games, you name it, Keri has done it. She is the ultimate sports mom (and knows her stuff too!) Keep in mind Keri balances this hectic sports schedule while working full time and going to school. In addition to Zach’s stand out athletic skills, Keri raised one heck of a kid. He is a polite, caring, and intelligent young man.
The amount Keri balances day to day has inspired me. The love she has for her son pours out of her and it is a trait to be admired. To compare it to baseball terms, as a mother, Keri stepped up to the plate, bases are loaded, bottom of the 9th, and she knocked a grand slam out of the park.
Here are some photos of Keri’s world, her son’s varsity baseball game.
